6/10/2010 - Live Music at Brookwood

Join us Friday, June 11 for live music featuring Ashley Nielsen and Allison King. These two Alabama natives will perform at our Brookwood location at 7 p.m.

Ashley's Bio:  Ashley Nielsen is the definition of a natural. She was 'discovered' when a neighbor heard her singing through thin apartment walls and urged her to share her original songs in a more formal setting. Ashley has incredible versatility, using her voice to match the sweetness of a lullaby, then scratching out Joplin-esque edge all in the same song. Her lyrics are smart, her melodies linger and her sweet nature endears. Be very glad Ashley Nielsen decided to step out of her living room and inspire.

Allison's Bio:  

Allison King was raised in Florence, AL just acros the Tennessee River from the famous Muscle Shoals music sound. Although the Swampers were before her time, there must have been something left over in the water because she took to music like it was her native tongue. Deeply rooted in bluegrass and folk, Allison sings old traditionals and originals that are unaffected and simple in their beauty. Her love of singing and sound are apparent in her thoughtful conveyance of each song. You'll feel renewed and hopeful after hearing this voice.
